How to Disburse the Quarter of the Testator's Estate

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 9246 )
Q: I submit this petition to your eminence, requesting your fatwa regarding the will of my father, Hamdan Nuwar Hamad al-Atibi. The text of the will, in summary, states: "I have bequeathed a quarter of my wealth in the path of my [relative] (a copy is attached)." I previously went to the Grand Court and obtained a legal document officially confirming it (a copy of the document is attached). When I requested the disbursement of the quarter of his wealth according to his will, the judge at the court asked me to obtain a fatwa for this will, and how this quarter of the testator's wealth should be disbursed, and the channels through which it may be spent? I ask Allah, then your eminence, to provide me with an official fatwa regarding this will, and to do so quickly, as requested by the judge.
A: The proceeds of what was mentioned should be spent in channels of righteousness, such as for the poor, especially the poor among his descendants, for mosques, for providing water, and similar channels of righteousness.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
