The bequest is executed according to the words of the testator

Question:
After this, we move on to a letter sent by the listener Ahmad 'Abd al-Mubasir al-'Utaybi. Our brother asks Your Eminence a number of questions, one of which says: What are the things in which the money of a deceased person that he bequeathed is to be spent?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In a bequest, the words and directives of the testator are to be observed. If he said, “Spend it in acts of righteousness,” then it is to be spent in avenues of righteousness: charity for the poor, building mosques, purchasing necessities for mosques, and the like, such as repairing restrooms, providing aid to the mujahideen, and other forms of good. If he said in his bequest, “Spend it on building mosques,” then mosques are to be built with it. If he said, “Spend it on my poor relatives,” then it is to be spent on his poor relatives. One looks at what he said and acts according to his bequest. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
