The second question of Fatwa No. ( 12985 )
Q2: The municipality prevented the construction of an Islamic center project on the lands, but offered other, larger lands to the association. Is it permissible to sell the land and what is on it to purchase and build a mosque and an Islamic center for education
and Islamic activity?
A2: If the municipality prevents the association from building an Islamic center on the land, and offers other, wider lands to the association; it is permissible to sell the first land and what is on it to purchase and build a mosque and an Islamic center for education and Islamic activity. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
