The Reason for the Prohibition of Riba

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question from Fatwa No. ( 9450 )
Q6: What is the reason for the prohibition of riba?
A6: It is obligatory for the Muslim to submit and be pleased with the rulings of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), even if he does not know the operative cause of the obligation or prohibition. However, in some rulings, the cause of the prohibition is apparent, as in the prohibition of riba, where it involves exploiting the need of the poor and doubling the debt upon him, as well as the enmity and hatred that arise from it. Furthermore, engaging in riba leads to abandoning work and relying on riba-based profits, not striving in the earth, and other great harms and evils.
