The thirteenth question of the fatwa numbered ( 6337 )
Q13: A man purchased a specific item at a fixed price, such as a refrigerator, with the intention of selling it for more than its purchase price. Is this permissible, and what is the ruling on the black market, as it is called?
A13: It is not permissible for a Muslim to sell what he has purchased before he takes possession of it. Once he has taken possession of it, he may sell it, whether for more than he paid for it, in cash or on credit. As for the ruling on buying and selling in the black market, the ruling is the same as for buying and selling elsewhere: if the conditions of a valid sale are met, it is permissible; otherwise, it is not.
