Sleeping all day during Ramadan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of fatwa number ( 12901 )
Q: If a person in the days of Ramadan eats the pre-dawn meal, then prays the Fajr prayer and sleeps until the Zuhr prayer, then prays it and sleeps until the 'Asr prayer, then prays it and sleeps until the time of breaking the fast, is his fasting valid?
A: If the matter is as described, the fasting is valid, but for the fasting person to remain asleep for most of the day is negligence on his part, especially since the month of Ramadan is a noble time in which the Muslim should benefit by increasing his recitation of the Qur'an, seeking provision, and learning knowledge. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
