Designating specific days for worship to the exclusion of others

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 4172 )
Q6: What is the ruling on choosing the fourteenth and twenty-seventh nights of Ramadan as festivals before the day of 'Id al-Fitr and studying in them to the exclusion of the other days of the month?
A6: As for the fourteenth day, we know no basis for designating it to the exclusion of the other nights of Ramadan. As for the twenty-seventh night, if one strives in it seeking the Night of Decree, he is not to be censured. However, the Muslim should seek it in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, for they have a special merit. As for designating these two days for study, we know no basis for it. Likewise, making the fourteenth and twenty-seventh nights festivals has no basis; rather, it is a religious innovation.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
