Q: I am the owner of a store selling industrial equipment. Among my customers are representatives of national and foreign companies. These representatives request a special discount for themselves, amounting to 10%, knowing that they are employees of their companies and receive salaries for their work. I do not know
whether the company heads are aware of this or not. The amount of this discount is taken by the company representative. I and other store owners who deal with company representatives have continued this practice of giving them this special discount, amounting to 10%, for several years. This phenomenon is widespread in most stores that deal with company representatives, especially foreign companies. Therefore, I ask you to issue a ruling on this practice. As for me, I have stopped this discount and repented to Allah. All I hope for is a ruling on what I did in the past years and the way out of it.
A: If the situation is as described, then what those representatives earned from this discount is forbidden, and it is a betrayal of their companies. Your agreement with them and others like you to give them this discount is forbidden, because it is cooperation with them in sin and aggression. Allah has forbidden that, saying:[Al-Ma'idah 5:2] , and upon you and whoever did this is repentance and seeking forgiveness.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
