The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19129 )
Q2: In our village, people guarantee the olive harvest for a specific sum of money, such as saying: “I guarantee all your olives for one thousand dinars,” and the other party accepts. Is this transaction permissible in the noble Shari'ah? What is it called? And what is the basis of its permissibility, if it is permissible?
A2: This mentioned guarantee is not permissible; because it is a guarantee of an unknown thing; and because it is a false wager, so it is gambling, and consuming wealth without right. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
