Ruling on the taking by the Ahl al-Bayt of what is called social security

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: We are a middle-class family and we are from the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we have documents proving this.
My father has reached the age of sixty, at which point he meets the conditions for joining social security. We asked our father to benefit from social security, but he refused because there is a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stating that zakah and sadaqah are not to be given to his household. My question is: Is social security considered to be in the category of sadaqah or not? Please inform us.

A: If your father meets the valid conditions for those who benefit from the social security service, then it is permissible for him to take it; because it is assistance from the public treasury for the poor who meet the required conditions, and it is not from zakah, according to the statement of the department responsible for that.
