Q: What are the best days for voluntary fasting and the best months for paying zakah ?
A: The best days for voluntary fasting are Monday and Thursday, the white days, which are the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every month, the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, especially the Day of 'Arafah, the 10th of Muharram, along with fasting the day before or the day after it, and six days of Shawwal. As for zakah, it is paid after the completion of the lunar year (hawl) if the wealth reaches the minimum threshold (nisab), in whatever month that occurs.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
