Q: There are some people in our area, namely the wealthy ones, who give those in financial difficulty a sum of money, for example, 9,000 nine thousand riyals, on the condition that they return a Datsun car after one year, which is of the new model. Is that permissible?
A: It is permissible to purchase a car, for example, described with precise specifications, for a known price received in the contract session, for a known term; based on what is established from the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة وهم يسلفون في الثمار، السنة والسنتين، فقال: من أسلف فليسلف في كيل معلوم، ووزن معلوم، إلى أجل معلومAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
