Examples in the Qur'an of the expiation for intercourse during the day in Ramadan.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Is there a parallel for this expiation mentioned in the Qur'an? Yes, there is a parallel mentioned in the Qur'an: the expiation for zihar. If a man says to his wife, "You are to me as the back of my mother," we tell him: stop now; you cannot approach her until you free a slave. If you do not find one, you must fast two consecutive months. If you are unable to do that, you must feed sixty poor people. Is there another parallel in the Qur'an? The expiation for killing is not like it, because the expiation for killing involves freeing a slave; if one does not find one, he must fast two consecutive months, and there is no feeding if he is unable to fast. This is unlike the expiation for zihar and the expiation for intercourse during the day in Ramadan, where feeding sixty poor people follows the fasting.
