The ruling on speaking about a person's faults in his face

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixteenth question of the fatwa number ( 5276 )
Q16: What is the ruling on speaking in a person's face and informing him of his faults while he is listening? Is it permissible?
A16: It is permissible if it is in the form of advising him and rebuking him, so that he may desist from sin, and it should be done in a good manner so that he accepts the advice. However, if it is in the form of gloating, shaming, insulting, or publicizing his faults, or the like, then it is not permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
