Vitiligo as a Defect in Marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is slight vitiligo considered a defect in marriage?Meaning: If a man finds vitiligo in his wife, is it considered a defect?
Yes.
It is a defect without a doubt; because a person is repelled by this, and he cannot be content with his wife unless Allah wills. It is a defect whether in the man or the woman. Even if the man has vitiligo and the woman marries him without knowing about it, it is a defect for her to annul the marriage on this basis. However, if this vitiligo is something that can be treated, the better and more preferable course is to be patient until it is seen whether it is cured by the treatment or not; because separation and divorce are not easy matters. But if its cure is impossible, then it is a defect.
The conclusion is that vitiligo is a defect that establishes the right of annulment, whether it is in the man or the woman. But if it is in the man, the woman has the right of annulment; she requests that the marriage be annulled, and the marriage is annulled, and she marries someone else. But if it is in the woman, it is known that the man is permitted to separate from his wife by divorce. But the benefit of our saying that he has the right of annulment: That if he annuls the marriage on account of this defect, he has the right to reclaim the bridal gift from the one who deceived him.
As for the aspect of sin, the man sins and the woman sins if this defect or any other defect that prevents the perfection of enjoyment is present in them, and they did not inform their partner. Indeed, concealing it is without a doubt forbidden, and it is a form of deception from which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disavowed the one who commits it.
