The Sacrifice for the Deceased
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7502 )
Q3: A man bequeathed in the income of one-third of his wealth to sacrifices, and did not specify to whom they should be given. What should be done with their meat? What is the ruling on executing this bequest? And is it permissible to change this bequest by, for example, donating its value or spending it on other righteous deeds?
A3: If the situation is as described, the bequest must be executed according to the text of the bequeather. The bequeathed sacrifice is considered like any other prescribed sacrifice, from which one may eat, give as gifts, and give in charity, and one must not deviate from the text of the bequeather in this regard. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
