When the pilgrims return, they must stay in their homes for a week and not go out

The fourth question of fatwa number ( 5741 )
Q4: When the pilgrims return from the sacred lands to their countries, they stay in their homes for a week and do not go out, neither to attend to their needs nor to pray, and people gather around them to seek their supplication. Is this part of the Sunnah?
A4: This is not part of the Sunnah; rather, it is a religious innovation, and whoever claims it is part of the Sunnah has erred. As for their staying in their homes and not performing the congregational prayer in the mosque, this is not permissible except for a valid religious excuse, and what was mentioned is not an excuse. Therefore, they are sinful for their absence from the prayer.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
