Q1: If my father sent me to buy some items, and a sum of money remained over from my purchase, is it permissible for me to keep this amount without my father’s knowledge?
A1: If any of the money you were sent to buy with remains with you, it is obligatory for you to inform your father. If he permits you to take the remainder, take it if you give your brothers the same amount; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 2587 , otherwise, give it to him.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
