Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 8250 )
Q: I heard that after the adhan, there are no two rak'ahs of greeting the mosque, so the prayer at this time is considered a sunnah. How authentic is this statement?
A: It is recommended to pray two rak'ahs between every adhan and iqamah; for what is established in the hadith:
There is a prayer between the two Adhans (Adhan and Iqama), there is a prayer between the two Adhans." And then while saying it the third time he added, "For the one who wants to (pray).بين كل أذانين صلاة، ثم قال في الثالثة: لمن شاء
Sahih al-Bukhari 627
, and among these are the regular voluntary prayers (rawatib) attached to the obligatory prayers, including the sunnah of Fajr. If the one entering the mosque prays the rawatib at the time of the Zuhr and Fajr prayers, that suffices as the greeting of the mosque. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
