The Prostration of the One Who Joins the Prayer Late
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 4119 )
Q1: A man joined the congregation late, missing one or two rak'ahs, and the imam performed the prostration for forgetfulness. Is it permissible for him to prostrate with the imam, or should he complete his prayer and then perform the prostration for forgetfulness?
A1: The ma'mum who joined late prostrates with the imam if the imam prostrates for forgetfulness before the taslim. However, if the imam prostrates after the taslim, the ma'mum who joined late prostrates for forgetfulness after making up the rak'ah or rak'ahs he owes, either before or after the taslim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
