The Masbuq Following the Imam in the Prostration for Forgetfulness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 9950 )
Q1: If the imam says the closing salam and then performs the prostration for forgetfulness, and the forgetfulness was due to a deficiency, is it obligatory for the late-joining ma'mum to follow the imam? And if he does not follow him, what is the ruling?
A:1 If the imam forgets and performs the prostration for forgetfulness, it is obligatory for the ma'mum to follow him in the prostration for forgetfulness, even if the ma'mum is a late joiner. If he does not follow him and stands up to make up what he missed, his prayer is valid, but he must perform the prostration for forgetfulness before he says the closing salam.
