Zakah on grains and fruits, and what is obligatory in what is watered by machines

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first, second, and third questions from Fatwa No. ( 4499 )
Q1: What is the amount of zakah that is paid from the farm where irrigation is done by machine?
Q2: Is the zakah on the farm paid after deducting the value of the expenses incurred on this farm, or before calculating those expenses?

A1, 2: Zakah on grains and fruits is paid when they reach the nisab or more, regardless of the expenses spent on the farm; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order his workers to estimate the fruits for their owners and then take the zakah based on the estimate, without asking them about their expenses. The amount obligatory in what is watered by machines is half of one-tenth, and in what is watered by rain, rivers, and the like, where there is no labor involved, it is one-tenth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
