The ninth question from fatwa number ( 9437 )
Q9: My mother says that one of the men in the group had deposited a deposit with her, and he came the first time and took a quantity from it, and likewise the second time, and another quantity remained, and she has not seen him for 8 years until now, knowing that the owner of the deposit is alive, and she sends to him but he does not respond to her, so what is the ruling on this deposit, and is it permissible for me to sell it and give its price in charity on behalf of its owner, or throw it in the trash?
A9: She must send it to him if that is feasible, otherwise she must keep it with her until its owner comes, and when he dies, she must hand it over to his heirs.
