Theft for the sake of need

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: My mother is about seventy years old. In the early days of her youth, there was hunger and scarcity of livelihood, and she took one animal, and only one, from the sheep and livestock that were grazing in the desert. It is known that her relatives have now all perished, and none of them remain. So what should she do with that livestock , given that she is confused about the matter?
A2: Your mother must search for the owners of that livestock or for their
heirs, and pay them its value. If she does not find them, she should give its value in charity with the intention that the reward belongs to them.
