The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1693 )
Q2: If a fasting person is on an airplane and finds out via the clock and the telephone that the nearby country has broken its fast, is he permitted to break his fast? It is known that he sees the sun due to the altitude of the airplane, or is he not? Then what is the ruling if he breaks his fast in the country and then the airplane takes off with him and he sees the sun?
A2: If the fasting person is on an airplane and finds out via the clock
and the telephone that the nearby country has broken its fast, and he sees the sun due to the altitude of the airplane, then he is not permitted to break his fast; because Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:187] and this limit has not been realized in his case as long as he sees the sun. As for if he breaks his fast in the country after the day has ended for him, and then the airplane takes off and he sees the sun, then he remains having broken his fast; because his ruling is the ruling of the country from which he took off, and the day has ended in it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Then complete the fast until the sunset
ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ
