Giving zakah to poor relatives

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of the fatwa number ( 5342 )
Q2: I have a sum of money and I pay its zakah every year and give it to those who are entitled to it. However, due to the abundance of wealth in our country and the scarcity of the poor, and because I do not know them, I ask you to inform me: may I give it to my relatives who are not entitled to inherit from me? I hope you will guide me to the most correct way to pay this zakah. May Allah reward you with the best reward and excellence.
A2: It is permissible to give zakah to the relatives of the one paying it, provided that he is not obligated to support them, such as his paternal cousins, if they are poor. For charity to a relative is both charity and maintaining family ties, as stated in the hadith. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
