If the worker increases the estimate of the harvest to increase the farmer's assistance

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1367 )
Q2: If the zakah assessor estimated a person's farm at ten thousand sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg), while it does not exceed five thousand, and the purpose of the increase was to enable the farmer to increase his assistance, should he pay zakah on ten thousand or five thousand?
A2: If the farmer knows about this, it is obligatory for him to fear Allah the Exalted in this matter, and not to take except what he is entitled to. If he takes what he is not entitled to, the excess he takes is considered forbidden (haram). If he does not know until after the worker has left, it is incumbent upon him to inform the competent authority of the truth of his crop, so that they may proceed to correct the estimate as required. He owes only the zakah of his harvest. However, if he does not know about it at all, the principle is to accept the estimate of the assessor and pay zakah on it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
