Q4: Is it permissible to distribute money in the cemetery according to the custom practiced among people?
A4: Giving charity on behalf of the deceased is prescribed, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not distribute charity in the cemetery after the burial of the deceased, or before it, or at any other time, despite his frequent attendance at funerals and his visiting of graves, as did his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Therefore, distributing it in the cemetery is a religious innovation that contradicts the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
