Speaking while the imam is delivering the sermon

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2736 )
Q2: Is this hadith authentic or not, and did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or the Caliphs after him recite it before mounting the pulpit to deliver the Friday sermon or not? We find it being recited in some mosques. The hadith is: from
Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you say to your companion on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon, "Be quiet," you have spoken in vain. And whoever touches the pebbles has spoken in vain. And whoever speaks in vain has no Friday prayer. O people, be quiet and face the imam so that you may be rewarded. May Allah have mercy on you. Please inform us. May Allah bless you.

A2: A person speaking to anyone other than the imam during the Friday sermon is forbidden; due to the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When the Imam is delivering the Khutba, and you ask your companion to keep quiet and listen, then no doubt you have done an evil act.إذا قلت لصاحبك يوم الجمعة: أنصت، والإمام يخطب فقد لغوت
Sahih al-Bukhari 934
It was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim and the compilers of the Sunan. Likewise, fiddling with pebbles or other things during the sermon is not permissible; due to the hadith:
Whoever smoothes the pebbles, then he has engaged in Laghw.من مس الحصى فقد لغا
Sunan Ibn Majah 1025Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Muslim, and the statement of the imam that this hadith is a religious innovation when he ascends the pulpit. Likewise, the statement of others of this hadith or similar to it when the imam ascends
the pulpit or after he has ascended it is a religious innovation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
