Q2: Is it permissible for one man to deliver the Friday sermon and another man to lead the prayer?
A2: Praise be to Allah: The majority of scholars held that it is not a condition for the Friday preacher to be the imam of the prayer, because no text was transmitted that obligates this. The Maliki school differed on this point, holding that it is a condition for the Friday preacher to be the imam of the prayer, explaining this by saying that the sermon is attached to the prayer, so it is not permissible to separate them between two imams by intention except for an excuse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
