How to Perform Wudu Over the Socks

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa Number ( 5840 )
Q: I suffer pain between the toes of my feet from water during wudu, to the extent that I get a lot of itching between the toes and the skin gets injured. However, if the water is cut off from them, the pain and itching subside. I hope you will guide me: is it permissible for me to perform wudu without washing the feet, or is it permissible to wipe over the socks?
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And to proceed: If the situation is as you described, then put on the socks while in a state of complete ritual purity, then wipe over the socks with every wudu for one day and night while resident, and for three days while traveling, as long as you do not become in a state of major ritual impurity. However, if you become in a state of major ritual impurity, it is obligatory
for you to wash your entire body, including the feet. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
