The second question of Fatwa number (1332)
Q 2: What is the ruling on a woman wearing what is called a wig to adorn herself with it for her husband?
A 2: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions. And after:
It is incumbent upon each of the spouses to adorn themselves for the other in a way that increases affection and strengthens the relationship between them, but within the limits of what the Shari'ah of Islam has permitted, and not what it has forbidden. Wearing what is called a wig began among non-Muslim women, and they became famous for wearing it and adorning themselves with it until it became one of their characteristics. Therefore, a woman wearing it and adorning herself with it, even for her husband, involves imitating the disbelieving women. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited this, saying:Sunan Abi Dawud 4031Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani); and because it is in the ruling of attaching hair, or even more severe than that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited this and cursed its doer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
