I refer to your inquiry registered with the Department of Scientific Research and Ifta under number 1265, dated 1/4/1407 AH, in which you ask about the ruling on women joining hair.
A: I inform you that joining hair is not permissible, and there is no difference between human hair and anything else with which hair is joined; due to the generality of the authentic hadiths regarding the prohibition of that.
In Sahih Muslim, from Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have a daughter who is a bride, and she was afflicted with smallpox, so her hair fell out. Should I join it? He said:Sunan Ibn Majah 1988Sahih (Darussalam) Also in it, from Abu al-Zubayr, that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: Sahih Muslim 2126.
