The follower imitating the imam in the tashahhud
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 9217 )
Q3: I prayed behind the imam in a four-rak'ah prayer, and in the first tashahhud the imam delayed sitting down, so I completed the tashahhud as if it were the final tashahhud of the prayer. What is the ruling on my prayer, and what should I do? Do I repeat the tashahhud, or remain silent, or is there a specific supplication I should recite?
A3: Your prayer is valid, and your first tashahhud is prescribed; you follow your imam by performing the tashahhud and the salutation upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and you remain silent until the imam stands up. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
