The Permissibility of Kissing the Deceased After Washing
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 9226 )
Q2: When my husband passed away, I came to shroud him. After he was washed and shrouded, I lifted the shroud to bid farewell to his pure face. Some of my relatives told me: It is not permissible for you to open the shroud now that we have washed and shrouded him, and since it breaks his ablution. Do I have any sin in doing this? If so, what should I do now? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A2: You owe nothing for kissing your husband’s face after he has been washed and shrouded. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
