A man placing his wife in the grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3340 )
Q2: My son and I attended after the death of my wife, but we attended her funeral and helped in her burial. I, my son, and one of her cousins placed her in the grave. I heard from some people that I have no right to place her in her grave. What is the correctness of this statement? And if it is correct, is there an expiation or something I should do?
A2: It is permissible for you to place her in her grave. Whoever says: “You have no right to do that,” is mistaken. You are not required to perform an expiation; rather, you are rewarded, if Allah wills. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
