The one who dies in prayer: is he washed and shrouded?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13529 )
Q: If a person dies during prayer, is it obligatory to wash him before burial? And if so, why is this person different from the martyr, given that the martyr is not washed? May Allah preserve you.
A: If a person dies during prayer, he is washed and shrouded before burial; because there is no evidence in the Shari'ah that permits not washing him. As for the martyr in battle specifically, he is not washed; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not wash the martyrs of the battle, nor did he pray over them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
