The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 581 )
Q5: What is the middle prayer?
A5: The scholars have differed in identifying it: is it 'Asr, or Fajr, or Zuhr, or Maghrib, or 'Isha', or is it one of the five prayers but unspecified? The most likely view is that it is the 'Asr prayer; for in the two Sahihs it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 627a . And in a narration by Muslim : Sahih Muslim 628 . And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
