As for what follows: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the chapter on the times of prayer:
And from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

أن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال يوم الخندق : ملأ الله عليهم بيوتهم وقبورهم نارا كما شغلونا عن الصلاة الوسطى حتى غابت الشمسThey diverted us from saying the middle prayer, i. e. the 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire; he then observed this prayer between the evening prayer and the night prayer.
