Speaking about worldly matters in the mosques
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The ninth question of Fatwa No. ( 8898 )
Q9: Is it permissible to speak about worldly matters inside the mosque at times other than prayer?
A9: It is not permissible to use mosques as places for selling and trading, or for other worldly matters that involve raising one’s voice; for mosques are built only for the remembrance of Allah the Exalted, the recitation of the Qur'an, and prayer therein. However, it is permissible to speak briefly about worldly affairs in a manner that does not distract those around them, whether they are reciters or those praying. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
