Announcing a claim of possession in the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 3842 )
Q: Some citizens finalize claims regarding certain properties in order to obtain title deeds. The court sends a copy of the finalization to the imam of the mosque for the purpose of announcing it to the villagers and informing them. The imam reads this finalization inside the mosque immediately after the prayer. On many occasions, this finalization causes a great deal of back-and-forth and heated disputes among the worshippers inside the mosque. A number of individuals have suggested that the imam should, after the Friday prayer, simply announce to the worshippers that a finalization regarding a specific person will be read in the sacred precinct of the mosque, naming the person. Anyone who is a partner, a neighbor, or has a right against that person, or who wishes to hear the finalization, may do so in the sacred precinct of the mosque after the prayer. As for the mosque itself, it was not built for this purpose. Reading the finalization inside the mosque and the resulting commotion and disorder, as we have mentioned, bring no good.
We ask Your Eminence to inform us whether the suggestion made by those individuals aligns with the solution Your Eminence considers appropriate for this problem, as it achieves the announcement to everyone that a finalization concerning a specific person will be read in the sacred precinct of the mosque, while at the same time sparing the worshippers from excessive argument and back-and-forth inside the mosque. Or is there no harm in keeping the matter as it currently stands?

A: It is not permissible to do this in the mosque or in its sacred precinct, which is considered part of it; because mosques are built for the worship of Allah, for teaching and learning knowledge, and for other matters of religion. Using it for what was mentioned is in no way part of religion. The announcement can be posted outside the mosque door in a specific, permanent place so that people can see it. In this way, harm is averted from the mosque and the benefit of the announcement is achieved. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
