A2: The hadith was narrated by al-Tirmidhi in his Sunan from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2790Hasan (Darussalam) The intended meaning of "oil" is perfume. Then al-Tirmidhi said: This is a strange hadith, and al-Suyuti indicated it in [al-Jami' al-Saghir] with the symbols for a good hadith, and its chain is good. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
