The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 6357 ):
Q5 Is this hadith authentic or weak?
A5: The original of the hadith is in [Sahih Muslim ], as he narrated it from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2629Sahih (Darussalam) .
As for the addition ("It was said: Who are the strangers? ... etc."), Imam Ahmad narrated it in [Al-Musnad]; he reported from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:139 1 \ 398, and he also narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said one day while we were with him: Hadith 2 \ 177. He also narrated from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sana (with a single nun) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Hadith, and by this it is known that the hadith is authentic. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
