Q2: Whatis the meaning of the Tabi'un who are not among the men of desire?
A2: The meaning of "not of desire" is: one who follows the people of the household for food and the like, and has no need for women; because he is impotent, or has a physical defect, or is a fool with weak intellect who does not notice what arouses desire from adornment or beauty, or an old man whose old age has weakened him until he has no concern for women,
and the like of those whose need for women has passed due to some ailment, so one is safe from them and does not fear fitnah (trial) from them. Thus, women may display to them of the adornment what is permissible for them to display to their mahrams (relatives one may not marry) mentioned in the verse, and those in their position among women and small children who have not reached a level of understanding where they know the 'awrah (private parts) of women and are affected by it. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
