Q1: Is it permissible for a man to learn the Qur'an from a shaykh in exchange for a specific fee that the shaykh receives? Knowing that if the shaykh does not receive this money, he will not teach him.
A1: Yes, it is permissible to take a fee for teaching the Qur'an according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions; due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 5737 narrated by al-Bukhari, and because of the pressing need for it. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
