The Manner of the Creation of Man

The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 2612 ):
Q6: Do we understand from the blowing of the soul into the fetus after four months that the sperm which unites with the woman's egg, from which the fetus is formed, has no soul, or what?
A6: Both the sperm and the woman's egg have a life suited to them—provided they are free from defects—each being prepared, by the permission and decree of Allah, to unite with the other. When that happens, the fetus is formed, if Allah wills, and it too is alive with a life suited to it, a life of growth and transition through the known stages. When the soul is blown into it,
another life flows through it by the permission of Allah, the Subtle, the All-Aware. No matter how much effort a person exerts, even if he is a skilled doctor, he will not encompass knowledge of the secrets of pregnancy, its causes, and its stages. He only knows of it through the knowledge, examination, and experience he has been given regarding some of its symptoms and conditions. Allah the Exalted said:
(8) Allah knows what every female carries and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. And everything with Him is by due measure. (9) [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted.
Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs
