The second question of Fatwa No. ( 10909 ):
Q2: Some people say: How can all provision be from Allah when I can increase my work today to obtain more provision? How can provision be determined for me and written for me, with no say of mine in its increase or decrease? And are there books that research such issues to guide us to them?
A2 : Provision is from Allah in its creation, determination, and bestowal, as well as in its earning and causation. The servant directly engages in the cause, whether it is difficult or easy, much or little, and Allah determines the cause and creates it out of His grace and mercy. Thus, provision is attributed to Allah in terms of determination and bestowal, and to the servant in terms of causation and earning. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
