Discussion of the name of Allah, al-Razzaq (The Provider), its meaning and evidence, and the explanation of the types of Allah's provision, which are material and spiritual; and spiritual provision is of two types: knowledge and faith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, among the names of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is al-Razzaq (The Provider). Allah the Exalted said:
(57) I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. (58) Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength. ما أريد منهم من رزق وما أريد منهم أن يطعمون إن الله هو الرزاق ذو القوة المتين
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:57-58]
Al-Razzaq is an active participle, so it indicates intensity, due to the abundance of His provision and the multitude of those He provides. Allah the Exalted said:
And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision ومامن دابةٍ في الأرض إلا على الله رزقها
[Hud 11:6]
How many are those whom Allah provides for! Then, the provision of the servants of Allah is also abundant. If you were to count what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) provides for you, you would not be able to count it. So He (Mighty and Majestic) is al-Razzaq (The Provider), but His provision is of two types: material provision and spiritual provision. Material provision is that by which the body is nourished, and spiritual provision is that by which the soul is nourished. Do you understand? All of it is provision. For this reason, the author said: "*** and provision is among His actions, of two types"
"Provision through the hand of His servant and His messenger *** two types as well, both well known"
Knowledge and faith; this is spiritual provision
The student: Conceptual.

The Shaykh : This is spiritual provision: knowledge that settles in the heart, followed by faith, which is belief, acceptance, and submission. This is provision, and it is by this that the soul and hearts live. The second is the provision prepared for these bodies, which is also of two types
Lawful provision, in which there is no accountability, and forbidden provision, in which there is accountability. But it is still provision, because it brings life to the body
