Insulting the Self of Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

Fatwa No. ( 3481 ):

Q: I am a Muslim woman living in Denmark with my Muslim husband, and I have three children from him, praise be to Allah. Let my name be M. M. M. as a symbol. In a moment of extreme anger, I insulted the Self of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic. Since then, my husband has refused to speak to me, claiming that I am an apostate, that Allah has annulled my marriage contract, that it is forbidden for him to eat my slaughtered meat, that I do not inherit, that he will not pray over me, that I will not be washed, that I will not be shrouded, that I will not be buried, that dogs will be encouraged to eat my corpse, and that my wealth is a spoil for the Muslims. I am deeply remorseful, and this is the first time in my life. I have a good share of culture and knowledge, praise be to Allah, and I know that what happened from me is a terrible thing. He advised me to write to your eminence regarding my repentance. Do I have a repentance? And do I have a chance of being taken back by my husband, and how? May Allah improve your condition.
A: There is no doubt that insulting the Self of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is apostasy and exiting the fold of Islam by the consensus of the scholars of the Muslims. Its perpetrator deserves to be killed if he does not
repent from it; for His saying, peace and blessings be upon him:
The blood of a Muslim man who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah should not be lawfully shed but only for one of three reasons: married fornicator, soul for soul, and one who deserts his religion separating himself from the community.لا يحل دم امرئ مسلم إلاَّ بإحدى ثلاث: الثيب الزاني، والنفس بالنفس، والتارك لدينه المفارق للجماعة
Sunan Abi Dawud 4352Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Since you have repented from it, and you are remorseful for your action, and you have resolved that such bad words will not come out of you, your repentance is valid. Your husband should contact you, and your status with him after repentance is the same as it was before that occurred from you; because the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, accepted the apostates in their marriages after they returned to Islam, and they did not separate them from their wives, nor did they renew the marriage contract for any of them. We have in them a good example. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
