Reciting the Qur'an and Voluntary Prayer During the Day in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 968 ):
Q5: Which is better during the day in the blessed month of Ramadan: reciting the Qur'an or voluntary prayer?
A5: The way of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the month of Ramadan was to increase in various types of worship. Jibril would review the Qur'an with him every night, and whenever Jibril met him, he was more generous with good than the sending wind. He was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous in Ramadan, due to the increase in charity, kindness, recitation of the Qur'an, prayer, remembrance of Allah, and i'tikaf (spiritual retreat in the mosque). This is the guidance of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in this matter in this month. As for comparing the recitation of the reciter with the voluntary prayer of the one praying, it varies according to the circumstances of people, and the assessment of that is referred to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), for He encompasses all things.
And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
